Total Character Length... Too Long?

There are some great files I'd love to download on WinMX but when I find them but when I try to download them I get an error saying "Total Character Length Of The Path You're Trying to Create Is too Long".

What does that mean? Is there a way to correct it? It seems apparent that others have been able to download them since they're showing up in the search.

right click the file you want,click manually download. Select manually browse,give the file a new name,click ok.
