Dissapearing DVD Drive

Hey, I just removed a 16x CD-R drive and replaced it with a 48x CD-RW drive, and it works fine and all, but the drive below that cant seem to be found by Windows XP, it wont detect it no matter what I do, AddNewHardware and the such, and it doesnt show any errors and doesnt even show it on the DeviceManager, although when I use Nero and it finishes burning a CD, it opens the DVD drive that has dissapeared and the burner drawer, even though the computer says that there is no DVD drive....

Any help on how to get it back would be appreciated.

I'm guessing that you have a ide conflict. Do you have both units on the same ide controller? Open your case back up and make sure that you don't have both the DVD and CD-Rw both set as either slave or master.

thanks so much cheapprick that worked, i switched the CD-RW to master and the DVD to servent and now it show up yay!
