Hmmm, Winmx still kicks ass for movies and TV shows

Here is my proof. I went to work and came back to find 11gigs downloaded and more on the way. Wonderfull!

How do you sift through all the fakes? The last time i tried downloading movies the network was riddled with them.

Mostly by chat rooms but also I sort by Status if you see a user with 7 of 99 open slots or something similar, you know its fake. After a bit you start to recognize what to look for. There are a lot of fake users out there but they do not give me any problems. Ive been loading my drives down with lots of Kung Fu movies (winmx has lots!) and also a lot of TV shows. Its still working very well because there are some great groups that support certain TV shows big time. I think a lot of people give up to easy because of the que system but as long as you can wait, it works very nicely. It really doesn't take that long. Just let it run awhile and the downloads will start ouring in like a torrent of files. I get amazing results for video content.

i use to like winmx but sadly the developers gave up on it and so did alot of users.

I use slsk now its alot of winmx with the chat rooms.

I remember when 1 user is all you needed. I really never felt much of the benefit of multiple file hosts on downloads, as it was usually just a jumble of slow connections.

Not to mention, I always limited my upload slots so I could upload at a better rate to each user after my files.

There is a reason why you see only 1 upload at 0 and thats because for some reason all my uploads timed out and no one had yet to connect. I suspect that while surfing I over loaded my connection ( I was downloading a program from a website too) . You may look a little closer and notice all my multi source downloads had timed out to, leaving me with only one source for each file. I usually have 3 slots going and believe me, I supply lots of content. BTW, I got over 10gigs of shows today too.

And what does it matter when they will finish? Its not like I'm just sitting here wating to watch all these files at once anyway! All that stuff to sift through? Yeah I got it rough! I have to sift through so much to decide what movie to watch tonight and its lots of stuff you probably will never find on your BT sites that are run by the FBI. I never download any fake movies and the movies always finish so nothing is wasted.

Why enter the winmx thread just to dis it? I'm just showing how easy it is to find media to download. I really didn't expect them all to start at once, I admit. I was trying to get complete seasons of 2 tv shows along with the movies I had going and came home to 32 downloads going at once. BT can't handle 32 downloads at once, your connection would be so slow it wouldnt finish in a week.

Im trying to give open minded people a heads up on where to find a lot of content that is hard to find anywhere else, its up to you to either use this knowledge or ignore it or get caught in a web, spun by the, dare I say it again? FBI. Its your grave, you can dig it deeper if you like. I may even plant some flowers for you in between all the movies I'll be watching. I'll try and make some time, I promise.

He's right, winmx is at the bottom end of the p2p food chain. Only after it has gone through the newsgroups, bt, irc and ed2k networks will you stand a chance of getting it. Also bt requires uploading too, so that may be what you have against it. If you feel you are safer on winmx than a private bt site then its your grave. You always have kazaa to run back to after the mpaa starts suing you.

Yes, but it will suck the life out of your system! As I recall, most of the open nap servers require you to register and I quit using them.

I still use Winmx for asian media and apps.

To each his own. I used to use WinMx a lot. Nowadays it simply takes way to long to get anything accomplished. Queues up the butt and even if you "sift" through all the files I'm sure even Mels pulled in a few fakes in that 11 gigs.

For what it's worth WinMx it's actually a decent program, it is one of the better networks for rare music files if you don't mind a little work, a little time and butt load of waiting. However, the vast majority of the time I'd rather just click on a file, then get the file, at a fixed constant rate of 3.6 gigs per hour.

For rare music files I use WinMx for everything else its newsgroups.

Not a single fake. Not one. I really laugh at people who have no clue and think that Wonmx is last to get some things. There are many, many groups that bring content to the network by doing it themselves. I see some movies that were first on winmx (this I KNOW for a fact) getting posted later on websites. At any rate, its good to use different networks to find things you won't find here or there.

And no shawners, I don't butt into the BT threads and tell people to use winmx. I just tell them that the FBI has set up sites to monitor the heavy BT users. Just a warning, take it or leave it. I mean I really don't care if you lose the family home but maybe your family does. You are being watched with BT, and other networks too, but BT has a major flaw in its dependency on website trackers. If you get caught on the wrong site, with in the next year, you will be part of a huge FBI crack down. Its coming, you can bet the farm (or house) on it. If you were the FBI, if you thought the way they do (I know you don't, mind you) wouldn't you set up a site? It would be so easy to do and it would make their job so much more easy than chasing people all over the net. I could possibly and may be completely wrong, but to me it seems so obvious its scary. Never let greed over power your common sense! I do not say this because I think winmx is better than BT, BT is an awesome way to spread new files, but please think about what I've said. If it doesn't worry you any, then more power to ya. I'm only trying to protect my brothers. I don't have anything against you for using the network. Its not like that at all.

And here are my completes (no fakes) for the last few days. I cleared off over 40 movies before I decided to stop winmx from auto clearing them so I could take a screen shot. Over 70 movies and TV shows in a few days. Not bad for a dead network.

Yes, its amazing how many people don't get it. I can't understand it either. Ive tried a lot of the networks and it seems to me the WPN out paces most all of them for video content. I guess people see "que" and decide not to even try and thats ok, it may be best they don't use it anyways.. The que system really is no big deal and neither are any fakes planted by the MPAA. Just find some people and browse them. You will find lots of legit content that way.

And yes Spooky, I think I have most of them now.(I wondered would anyone notice that, care to guess on the others? Smallv---? lol) Not sure how many he's done but I have lots. Asian films seem to have some big fans on the network. Thank goodness subs are included!

yeah I used winmx alot for Asian content. Infact im trying to get all my old films I have on tape im tempted to give winmx another go I havnt used it in years.

For some reason my Winmx stopped kicking ass! I don't know what it is. I tried my firewall, sticking a fork in the power supply, ripping off the fan on the CPU, spitting in the case and beating on the side, nothings worked yet! Any help would be nice

well, my dad had the same prob (and still does) so he called them and apperently they're being investigated by the FBI.
