:bling i'd like some advice as to what sort of program to d/l. the things that i'd like and look for are:
dial-up modem friendly (something that will d/l as fast as possible give the situation) 56k
somewhere i'll be able to find "rare" files so to speak, not interested in getting massive pop music results unless i decided to look for them specifically
easy to use interface
i'd also like to have lots of search results, so perhaps a program that will search other programs as well
something clean and free of spyware, adware, and all that other bullshit that fucks w/ur computer eventually
i've used morpheus in the past, gnucleus, and the clean grokster once it was around. i really liked morpheus' easy to use interface, it's ability to d/l vids and it's search because i had a choice to search by artist, song title, album title...i was also able to see other people's d/l libraries if i saw that most of the files found by the search were by one single user. i did not like gnucleus, it was confusing to me and i felt like i had to understand programming in order to really take advantage of it :upside...the search sucked for me because i wasn't able to find many many of the mp3's that i searched for and i believe that was because of the lack of popularity compared to morpheus per se. i was really starting to luv my grokster, but my comp. crashed. what i liked about grokster was the look alike morpheus interface and search, i like the fact that grokster also searched files from kazaa just so that i would get more results, and the fact that i got the 1.6 clean version made me happy:gj. i search for mostly mp3's and music vids, that's what i live for lol, please please please i'm asking people who are wise beyond their years now and full of past music sharing program experience to give me their oppinions on what would best suit me. kazaa and kazaa lite do not convince me, neither does winmx and such :mellow

you could always e-mail me:Wendy (wckdlov7@yahoo.com)

as far as I can see you should go for kazaa lite and couple it with the participation hack tool..I mean with 56k you cant be too choosy, and kazaa does have the morpheus interface (so to speak) with the same search categories. It has a large amount of shared files and most times Ive found the rare musicfiles Im looking for, just like I share rare files I know psycedelic rock lovers cant find that I have on albums..

I would suggest Soulseek, a great p2p which connects very quickly and has tons and tons of files, all it lacks is users but people are coming and also Imesh which I sometimes find better than KaZaA Lite which you don't like (and file amount is similar as both are on the fasttrack network). Maybe even the new mediaseek also which is basically a audiogalaxy clone, but I havent tried it much yet. wckdlove, also I'm looking for someone like u, who is relatively new to p2p to try a couple of programs and write a review of one or a few for my site, www.spydar.150m.com Ur worked would be credited to u and u could have links or banners to ur own site or anything if u wanted. If ur interested either reply on this thread, or e-mail me at hypherion1@hotmail.com.

hope this help, hope to hear from u soon.

Hi, wckdlove,

Right all I want you to do is write me a short review of one of the p2p that u try. U can pick what one u want to review so it means that u dont have to download shit u don't want. It doesnt have to be long and complicated, but please at the end of your reviews include a short pros and cons summary. It would be good also if u told me what p2p u wanted to review so that I could remove it from my list. Once u finish the review just e-mail me it to me.

thanks for the help.

hey tfos, i've decided to go w/kazaa lite after d/l'ing ad-aware and reading up on imesh. the thing that i don't like about imesh is the adware/spyware, and soulseeker sounded cool, but i'd like it to have more users to exchange music with...i might try it out later as a back up to kazaa lite. i will write up a review of k-lite if u want and e-mail it to u. ;) thanx

hmmm XoloX is pretty good but it has annoying ads.... Maybe you should try Audiognome which connects to slavanap and opennap severs :)
