Here i am again doing something i hate doing. Looking for a new file sharing program. Right now on my computer i have, Xolox, WinMx, Blubster and Audiognome. It used to be so much fun to go to napster in the old days for so many reasons but one of the coolest things about it was that any song you entered would be found. I don't remember any request coming up empty no matter how unusual it was and believe me i don't go for the mainstream.

Fast forward to now (unfortunately) in the file sharing world. If your looking for Nelly, Brittney Spears, or any of the latest dance or hip hop garbage you will probably have no problem with any FTP. But if your looking for actual music (yeah I know start getting mad) some of these sites don't know anything unless its on MTV or in the top twenty on Billboard.

The closest thing to Napster was Audiogalaxy. They had just about everything also and had a database of mp3's that wasn't just for 16 year olds. Xolox gives me nothing, same with Blubster, WinMx is hard to connect to servers. Audiognome is my old standby and delivers at least some of the time. Most people seem to be happy with FTP's that work well on their computer without much concern for content where I have no use for them unless they return a lot of results no matter how unusual or unmainstream my request is. Thats what i want. A FTP that has a ton of users and a really really great diversity of files whether i want live stuff, old stuff, bootlegs, imports, whatever. Anybody that has a computer full of hard to find files that they found on Napster or Audiogalaxy might know what i'm talking about. Anybody that knows a FTP closest to what i'm looking for can you help me out? Thanks.

u hello u might wanna get w/ the program, Nelly, Britney Spears, EMINEM, Christina Aguilera, Linkin Park, ect. are real music, thats why they are on the top 20 billboard and stuff. Use Blubster, u can find any song on there. I have found all my hip-hp pop, r&b songs on there, but of course I only download from the top 100 billboard artists, and thats all that blubster offers. you mother f4cking b1tch, your so lame, get out of here.

Yeah dude, I feel you, Napster and AG were the best sources for non mainstrean music, it was a almost like a music library where you could type in almost any artist and get extremelly accurate and complete results. Ag and Napster were the most complete source of MUSIC ever put together...

The thing that gets somehow closer to it, is at this moment, kazaa or soulseek, winmx is too fucking slow and you get queues no mather what you search for, blubster still has a small music selection, so I'd recommend kazaa, anyways just take a look at the p2p program rankings here on ZP, and maybe you'll make your mind easier...

If real music for you is people who don't even write their own songs, just show off a piece of ass and sound all like each other, then dude, you are the lame one, if they are on the top20 it's because there's a lot a retarded people out there, I wouldn't give a dime to britney's, nelly's or christina's. About eminem, I like some of his inteligent lyrics but I'm beggining to get tired of the same sound all the time, always the same image and the same message, Plus, a guy that says he's gonna kill all the fans who download his shit over the internet, doesn't deserve my respect. One more thing, alexmontrose didn't come here insulting nobody, he just stated his opinion about mainstream music and it's avaliability throught p2p networks and ftp, he was only seeking guidance, and all you could do was call him lame and tell him to get out of here just cause he doesn't like britney... Now tell me who's the lame one?

Hey KwestSeeker and Krell thanks for the support but what do you want from a guy like PowerMad? Read his post and you know all you need to know about the guy. A moron? Ofcourse. Loves Jerry Springer? Naturally. Can you hear his car (if he has one ) coming down the street polluting the air with his crap he calls music? Yeah end of story. He's the epitome of uncool and lame but unfortunately these clueless bastards are actually being paid attention to by the record companies. Thats the real crime.
Used to be the record companies wouldn't shove this shit down out throats because they knew it was so bad but now ofcourse anything goes, whatever they can make a buck on. You keep on waiting for it to go away like a bad dream so you can say Ok they all got their "15 minutes" now lets get back to reality. It will but its taking way too long.
Well I guess it seems like a couple people like this Soulseek so I'll check that out. Hope they have a pretty big userbase. How about Kazaa Lite? Been reading a lttle about that, no spyware etc, but do you find the diversity like with AG or Napster?
