cant upload & download at same time

I download a lot of Japanese music on WinMX. When I try to trade with people by downloading and uploading at the same time to them, either the download or upload would say "Ttimed-out" or "Connection reset by peer". This would happen almost all the time and I would have to upload or download to them first because it wouldnt work at the same time. Can someone help?

Which connection are you using, Primary or Secondary?

What type of internet connection do you have?

Are you running a firewall?

Are you on a campus?

You might be using all your bandwidth up so that is why you can't upload and download at the same time.

Try to trottle down your bandwidth speeds.

I am using DSL on a primary connection. I have a router but have opened up my TCP and UDP connection. I just ran the test wizard again and it says my UDP connection is not working...this is weird because I opened up the 6257 UDP port both on my router and dsl modem. I have my outgoing connection capped at 20,000 bytes per second. The incoming bandwith is not capped.

Also, I can download from 1 user and upload to another user at the same time. However this is pretty much impossible to do when trying to download and upload to the same user. BTW I am using version 3.31 of WinMX and have the QuickMX mod. Anymore ideas?
