Is Google's Desktop Search Spyware?

I've heard rumors of the Google tool bar, and desktop search application containing Spy ware, I'd just like to ask everyone's opinion on this. Is google the innocent help the community company that we've always been waiting for? Or is it something else.. with a pretty face.

I havnt heard that much about it but from what I understand its like all other google software and webservices. It will log your infomation just like spyware does and thats how they make there money. So ya it basically is spyware. Although its not all that intrusive from what i understand just takes your file habits and such.
