whats your favorite ever? :"The bugs life" was pretty nice :)
Bugs life was CGA (computer generated animation) and doesn't count as true animation...

I like the first Heavy Metal, all the Studio Ghibli movies, and the Cowboy Bebop movie was pretty good too

The Incredibles, Ghost in the Shell 2, and Appleseed were some of the latest I've seen that I've enjoyed.
In terms of series. I've been watching Full Metal Alchemist, and Samuri Champloo, both really well writtern and fun to watch animations.

Cowboy Bebop, or the Samurai X Trust and Betrayl (technically it's an OAV, but it watches like a movie.)

Everyone who has said Akira are the coolest fucking people on earth

That is a classic of Japanese animation up there with Vampire Hunter D (<--------YOU ALL MUST SEE THIS MOVIE) and Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Machine is also a good one.....

Anything from the macross saga pretty much kicks ass (yes even when it was made into robo tech for N.A)

cowboy Beebop rocks but you need to see the tv shows before the movie as they are excellent quality.
Metropolis is good too...

I was in High school when Heavy Metal came out. It was a special evening with my girlfriend. I lived in Az. at the time and the legal drinking age then, was still 19. I had a friend who was getting 5 o-clock shadows at 9am in the morning in sixth grade. He scored me a pint of Southern Compfort. I sneaked it into the theater, bought supersized coke, went to the restroom emptied half of it out and poured the SC to the brim. Mix with two parts raging hormones and one straw. The soundtrack was good. I think they were using the left over specially designed sound system, previously used for the movie "Earthquake". I never could replicate all that base on my 8-track player.

I knew this post would turn to anime shows, not a bad thing, so here goes. Berserk, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Bleach, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, AKIRA WAS OK NOT GREAT, Ghost in the Shell movie, the show is also very good, Full Metal Alchemist rocked, Inuyasha or whatever with the dog demon guy. While I'm at it, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Futurama, Ben and Jerry, Lays Potato chips, rootbeer floats, kitchen sink, well thats all I can think of. FOR NOW

I haven't been exposed to much animation... I'm really not all that much of a fan of it, though I think it might be a fear of liking it to the point of obsession. Anyway, of the limited amount of animation I have seen, The Animatrix was my favorite. I know its not really a movie - more of a collection of shorts, and I know that the first one is actually CG, but even so, I thought it was really good. It sure was better than the second matrix movie, and perhaps even the third.
