Well, it looks like some people have been able to get it to work. I've run across a problem after I installed IE 7.
First, for some odd reseaon, I can not uninstall it, also it has disabled my ability to run a system restore-System restore crashes. Also, I can not get into my "Services" that crashes also. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this rather than reformatting my drive?
When I try to open the IE 7, I get this error message: The Procedure entry point InternetGet SecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic Link Library WinInet.dll
Thanks

Is it available for Linux? Lol, just kidding! I wonder how it will work under wine?

Yes, it tells me that it can only be uninstalled under the user that installed it! I installed it under my account.
I tried "safe mode" under my account as well as the admin account and it still comes up with the same error
I think I'm going to try to replace the "System Restore.exe" and the "Services.exe" files from a known good working machine that I loaded with XP Pro w/SP2 here at work. I know replacing the "Event Viewer" file on a machine here at work that I loaded fixed an issue with another machine that I loaded when the Event Viewer would not open.
Maybe I'll get lucky

Why was it uncalled for? is it becuase you are completely ignorant on the issues of IE causing problems, and above all, security flaws. Oh, but that must mean it's the best browser then, musn't it?. You cocksucker, you might of well of said that IE is the best browser in town and you cum in your pants everytime you use it. Bottom line, is that IE causes problems full stop, never mind some BETA program, On the contrary... I'm using a full blown standard system, and I've yet to come across a BETA to infect/corrupt/effect my system, so to say it's becuase of the beta, is simply incorrect.

BAN! BAN! BAN!
And I have something to add, everyone has thier own choice of browsers! You like this one, he likes that one, etc. What the hell does it matter? I started this thread to find something out from anyone else who might have come accross the same issue!
The funny thing is, everytime anyone here on ZP starts a thread about browers, rather than being helped, (except from those who care to help), the threads just turn into a big thing about what browser to use, etc.
It's getting really annoying! Forums are to here to help people, not to sit there and brag that you use this one or that one!

I said it was uncalled for because you called him a "faggot" simply because he uses IE. I personally can't stand IE I don't use it. I use firefox because I find it to be a much superior browser. You really are looking to get banned if you keep doing things like this. Calling me a "cocksucker" is extremely childish and I truly hope that someday you to can grow up like the rest of us so clearly have.

For the record, it was uncalled for because nobody likes a self righteous asshole like yourself. Come to terms you don't know everything and you might get some friends when you leave the basement

If replacing those don't work then you need to reinstall xp unless you use a backup program to backup your hard drive, not the one that in xp. Just do a retore that it.

Something else you can try running is system file checker. Open up your run box (start>run or windows key + R). Then paste this in without quotes "sfc /scannow".
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html has more information on how to use this tool. You may be required to insert your XP cd, so have it out just in case.

I know this isn't going to help much, but I know when I installed (and later uninstalled) the IE7 beta, it had made backups of my IE6 files. I'm not sure where they went, but you might be able to track them down. Otherwise (and this is the last resort you can try before a reinstall b/c I have a feeling it won't work), you can always try reinstalling IE7 and uninstalling it.
And, I know this isn't too helpful to you (and it's already been said in this thread), but to anyone considering installing IE7 Beta 1, remember, it's a beta. I got mine uninstalled successfully, but it still left some shortcuts all over the place - so, I figure it left a few other files lying around. Unless you really must see it now, you might want to hold off until beta 2 is released (and, honestly, IE7 really isn't much better then IE6 right now).

Yeah...good 'ol Windows. Those sure were the days. So IE7 is really coming out? Other than tabbed browsing and RSS features, does it offer anything truly useful, like say: 1. improved security, 2. standard css/(x)html compliance?
Seriously, just wondering for any folks that have tried it yet. I just have a hunch that a whole bunch of issues are going to aridse out of this. But hey, its still in beta.
I have used many applications, even in a W32 environment, that are/were still in beta release and they happened to run rather smoothly. For example, Mozilla Firefox, Shareaza, Gnucleus, OpenOffice.org, just to name a few. Note: These are all open-source projects, if that is at all relevant. IMHO, indeed yes, this is relevant.
Have fun waiting for Micro$oft to rule out the bugs. Wait I meant to say, issue two hundred patches after its already been fully released, lol! Also, does anyone plan to upgrade to Micro$oft's latest OS, M$ Windows Vista in 2006?
I am not an M$ basher, I just think it sucks for myself personally to use, but hey, to each his own. Microsoft Windows and other software are good quality, most of the time. I mean nothing personal to anyone who gets on his/her knees for Mr. Gates. I'm only teasing of course. Have fun with your antivirus. I think I'm going to install wine and see what viruses I can get to infect my machine, lol.

Firefox crashes for me at the very least weekly. And don't blame it on my configuration or extensions, I know what I'm doing. Open Office takes forever to load, even on a fast computer.

It's too early for anyone to make a good decision regarding that.

The Procedure entry point InternetGet SecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic Link Library WinInet.dll. I too, am getting this error. Can't uninstall or re-install to get it corrected. Has anyone got a fix for this yet? I am currently using firefox, but some programs, require IE to update, so would like to have access to it if I want it.
