edonkey goes real slow when playing games in fullscreen

My edonkey generally gets about 40-50k/sec download speed, but whenever i play game in fullscreen mode(warcraft3, medieval total war, stronghold, etc) the download speed will drop to like 1-2k/sec always.

Can anyone help?

Are these online games that use up bandwidth?

There should be no reason why that should happen, but edonkey is a high priority program and uses quite a bit of memory.

Maybe you should just close edonkey while playing games and leave the donkey running at night.

edonkey is really sensitive to excessive background processes. it happens w/ me as well, not only w/ games in fullscreen.
that happens less frequently w/ others p2p progs

yep its true it also says so in the info at edonkey2000.com, try emule this proggie is a little less sensitive for high cpu usage.
