Updated version of the popular windows explorer add-on released due to changes made to the Gmail service. Handy with over 2GB now!
GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual drive in the Windows Explorer, allowing you to use your Google Gmail account as a storage medium. It allows you to do basic file manipulation, such as copy and delete, on files inside the GMail folder. Because it is a Shell Extension, the interface you work in is Windows Explorer itself. GMail files are physically stored as e-mails on your Google Gmail account. The files are stored in mail attachments, and the filename and file information (such as filesize) is stored in the message subject lineSupplied from Lostcoders.net (http://www.lostcoders.net/) I Download here! Funny I have GMail and GMail Drive and never use it to store anything.
So I'm just curious, how many people actually do?

Seems like a great idea, but I put my info in and try to access it I get an error which says
An error occured: Login Failed
System Error Message:
Logon Failure: unknown user or bad password
yes I have a gmail account and am putting in the correct info because I use the gmail extension for firefox to check mail. Since it's kinda new I'll forgive them :icon_rabb

I had that problem before - You need to enter your details twice in the logon section (like in the picture above) for the proxy authentication. Gmail's security purposes acting up! Let me know how you get on.

Used the authentication and keep getting the same error, I wonder if I have to have something stored in order to access it?

It may be something to do with an outside access source. Why don't you try disabling your pop settings (if enabled), logging out, log back in and enable them again. Worth a go, caused problems with me before with outlook express.

It's an online hard drive basicallly. It used the space provided from gmail as a hard drive which appears in your my computer. Have a look here...

Don't work for me either. I verifed that my login and pass were correct put gmail drive returns error login failed. System could not connect to server. My pop3 works fine, so i can't explain it.

Thats really weird, I tested mine and no problems here? Although after I installed 1.0.7 I had to restart my computer.

Changes:
Google restructured the Gmail login procedures again and previous versions of the tool fail to log in. The new version also adds the ability to double-click to launch files and FileOpen dialog support.

Maybe your firewall isn't allowing explorer.exe to connect if you're using Windows Explorer.
