View Full Version : XM and Samsung to Build First MP3-SAT

We have heard the rumors on the iPod Satellite. It now looks like XM will beat them to the punch. Today XM and Samsung announced in a joint press release that they will ship the first MP3 satellite radio portable by end of the year. The yet to be priced unit won't be able to receive direct casts, rather a docking station will pick up the signal and record it to the player for later listening.

Yeah there were rumors floating around about the IPOD and wireless radio through the IPOD but the companies all claimed them to be just that rumors...

I kinda doubt they were rumors myself they were probably talks that were left on the back burner or whatever I remember hackaday had a few posts about that...

Can't wait for some type of iPod thingy with Sirius on it!

Howard Stern in '06... Here we come. Only about 5 months to go.

how much you got to pay for it.. WHY wont they make car stereo players play dvds that has MP3's on them. THat would be the bomb!!! And more in our price range.

THAT WOULD BE GREAT. I'd be first in line to buy one. Okay, the price would make me 14,088 in line, but I agree fully. A DVD of MP3s and I could go places I never dreamed of before.
