Almost celebrating the game's launch onto the PC and Xbox, a user known as PatrickW has found a way to unlock a hidden section of the game regarding the "girlfriend" missions. Apparently, Rockstar intended to go further than just having the house shake and sexual noises play when your "girlfriend" invited you in for "coffee". The camera was moved inside of the house, and there was a little mini-game where you had to make CJ pleasure his girlfriend. Not wanting to be the first AO (Adults Only) video game, it appears that Rockstar removed it. A user known as Barton Waterduck discovered the hidden part of the code on the PS2 version, but could do nothing about unlocking it. That's where PatrickW started. Using some coding, he found a way to unlock the mini-game. Rockstar came out with a statement claiming it was a hacked mod for the game, made by a dirty-minded user. When the people with Action Replay and Codebreaker found the codes to unlock the game in the PS2 though... Well, the ESRB took action, and declared GTA: San Andreas as an "Adults Only" game. The first serious game to be AO, at least to my knowledge.

There are a few AO games out there already, all those porn games, I think bmxxx and a few japaness hentai games. But they are few and far between. I can remember if it was ao or not but when thrill kill came out on its very limited release I think it was ao

Well NOW they already have all the games into the hands of kids as it is way past when it went on the market....it is a little to late to change the rating now...don't you think? I mean, the xbox version has just been released, but the Ps2 version has been out for months! All kids will do, is go on ebay or someplace and get it there.
Also, Rockstar calling the kid dirty-minded is like the pot calling the kettle black! THEY were the ones to put the code in there in the first place. If there were no sex scenes like that at all, there would have been nothing to unlock. But now it seems they want a scapegoat to pin it on!

Not only are they changing the rating, since Wal-Mart and others have pulled the game, Take2 has said they will no longer be making this vesrion (with the code included). Better buy yours today or miss out!

But still, they put that code on there and never would have, if they didn't plan to make an adult version of the game. I think they got scared when wal mart and others pulled the games because of the mod. I guess they saw a bunch of big bucks going out the window.

I really don't need to point this out, but I will any way: this is a real sick society that thinks it's o.k. for kids to play a game that includes violence and killing and gets upset only when sex is thrown into the mix. Bang the cop on the head but don't you dare bang your girlfriend in bed. The whole thing is a joke. More kids than ever are going to get their hands on this, thanks to all the publicity about a "hidden" game.

I agree with Burd. We been de-sensitized to violence for centuries (Wars), not everything about sex is bad!

And I quote Lewis Black on The Daily Show, "Hillary Clinton said this at a meeting, 'We need to treat violent and sexual video games just as we treat tobacco and alcohol.' Yea, as major contributors to our re-election fund."

I could rant here for hours, but, I'll withhold. My only comment: by this logic, The Little Mermaid should get an NC-17 rating because it's possible to draw pictures of her topless...

Well what you said is very true also! GTA is a VERY violent game. You can shoot people, blow their heads off or limbs off and people think THAT part is OK.......but the hot coffee mod is bad??
By the way, I STILL think rockstar is lame for blaming the kid that unlocked the mod, when he only unlocked something that they left in there.

"What about the rating?
This game was rated “M” (Mature) by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) for it’s graphic violence and brutal murders of women. The pornography certainly means that parents should consider the game “Adults Only.” If it turns out that the code is on the disk, then this raises serious questions about the whole ratings integrity.
What should a parent do?
Return to this website for updated information and suggestions for action. In addition, check your child’s game library."*
LMAO just like burd said people think its ok for children to see extreme violence towards women but omg!!! dont have sex with them!!! thats just wrong.
so remember kids
1.hitting girlfriend with baseball bat = ok ^_^
2.sex with girlfriend = bad -_-

this is stupid. but yet i almost have to agree with all of the recalling. SA took it a little too far with some things, and could even be seen as a little racist. instead of a white mobster comically yanking people out of cars, you have black gangster kicking and punching the drivers 'till they get out. its not like it makes a difference, but the extra punch or kick that was no more than animation, and added an image of unaggervated assualt. pointless. also the excessive use of fuck was... well.... excessive. its not too big of a deal for some one of my age, but once again: pointless.
i think these issues im mentioning arent really that big of a deal, but what it really comes down to for me is not players, but audience. im 22 years old, and i have a 8 and 5 year old brother and sister. i could almost feel ok about playing the first GTA infront of them because its so comical, even when you blast off some one's head and a ghyser of blood shoots from their neck while the body flails around like an insect. add in the other two elements above and it loses the warm fuzzy feeling of city rampaging and become more about hurting as many people as you can.
i know some of you are going to jump on me for sounding like one of those violent game protester fucktards, but i assure you, this is the only game that crossed the line with me at all. im not offended from it, just disapointed they went in this direction. if they are going to re-release it, they should make a "lite" option to make it more orginal GTA3 style.

We do have to keep one thing in mind: it's a GAME. That is, it is FANTASY. It's NOT REAL. Things just as bad if not worse have been described in books (including the Bible) for ages. Kids like stuff like this because it is FORBIDDEN. It gets their parents and other adults SO upset. They LOVE it. So, keep feeding the hysteria, but most kids DO know the difference between real and FANTASY. Too bad we can't say the same thing for many of their parents.

Ok, you can't even see any nudity on the ps2 or xbox version right? You have to get some code breaker thing? If that's true than I don't know why it's rated adult, I mean how many kids are going to have a code breaker?

Kids need porn! Its only fantasy! They know its not real! Don't be silly now!

NC-21!!!
Also: I imagined the weather lady on the news naked last night. She should be arrested for inducing such a transgression.
There was porno on the internet! It should be run by the UN!
Everybody poops! Plug all buttholes!
But carjacking, murder, pimping, selling crack, blowing up buildings and gunning down cops is surely appropriate content for video games and broadcast TV.
If Rockstar follows through and rereleases the game sans the smut, I hope the ESRB rates it EC: "EC - (Early Childhood) have content that may be suitable for ages 3 and older. Contains no material that parents would find inappropriate."
No nudity, fine by me!
