hi, i downloaded 2 movies off bitorrent and now i can't burn them to dvd for some reason. I tried using nero vcd and svcd (burning them onto a dvd) but no luck. it says the .bin file is not compatible with this type of burning. I am lost and i really want to get these files onto a dvd so i can watch them on my home dvd system. Thank you in advanced!

p.s. with the .bin there is also a .cue file

those types of files cannot be burned to DVD, they can only be burned to CD. In order to burn them to a dvd you would have to extract the contents and then reencode them into DVD format. If you do some google searches you should find pleanty of tutorials out there on the web

what would i need to extract them? and i can't burn them to a cd because the cd is too small for the file!

Well if the CD is too small ( then I am guessing that is over 800 MB) then you will need Isobuster to extract the files, the utiltiy is free, just load the bin and extract what you need, maybe Mpeg format or possibly VOBS (which would be better), lets clarify things first though, how large are the files?

I tried Isobuster last night and it didn't work, it kept giving me errors on the files that i extracted!

all the files put together are over 1 gig. I downloaded the videos and I would like to join them together but they are all bin files. I would like to convert them first and then join them together, does anyone know what i can do. Also, Isobuster still isn't working for me! Are there any other programs.

well sure u can burn those .bin files to dvd
just extract each bin file individually to a folder and it will be in the .mpg extension.
if you have like enough .mpg movie files that are worth the space to put on dvd then u should do this.
open up nero and create a data dvd. now drag all those mpg files into there and let nero process it.
i have done that over 50 times and it has played on my dvd.

of course u can burn them.
its not an actually dvd file, but its in .mpg and it will play on your dvd player if its capable. my dvd players are well then capable of playing a dvd full of .mpg files in that extension.

knowledge is the key to your success. *this is a side note type deal*

ok my side note thing is simple
rock on buddie boy.
;)
peace

1 ISO Buster use to extract session one bin file to MPEG..
2. Repeat 1 til all bin files are mpeg..
3. USE nerovision express to add mpeg files to the layout..
4. It will make them into own chapters and place them together and then it will convert to DVD. It would be in the 3 gig range.. and then burn.. Either that, or create a CUE sheet and burn to cd and eventually rotate all the cd's out when they each end.

well, i got all the videos extracted from the bin files! thanks to those who helped, I am now using windvd creator to put the files together to make a single file. One has completed and in the folder i saved it to, there were 2 new folders, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. How would i burn that to a dvd?

You can just use DVDShrink to "backup" to a DVD blank disk.

and that would be able to work if i wanted to play it on my home system?

Yes, it will copy all the dvd files to the disk. Also, if the dvd files too large to fit, DVD Shrink will compress them to fit!

No need to use Nero! DVDShrink will use your DVD burner to make a disk.

making a SVCD or VCD file to DVD. The dvd will not go over 4 gigs in most cases if you have 3 bin files. Mpeg to DVD will make it close to 3.8gigs if the VCD file is 2.1 gigs.
