Apple Computer recently held discussions with major recording companies, seeking to license music videos to sell through the company’s iTunes Music Store, according to a report in Monday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal.
The talks are a possible prelude to a version of Apple’s hit iPod music player that plays video — a version of the gadget that the Journal says the Cupertino, Calif., computer and electronics company has told some entertainment-industry executives could be unveiled by September. The videos, which could go on sale as early as September, would likely cost $1.99 each on iTunes according to the newspaper, with the possibility of a discount if consumers buy a music video and a song at the same time.

video will be cool to have on an iPod, but i wouldn't waste all my storage on it. i bet everyone will just load porn on them...

meh.... personally I would rather buy a portable dvd player and save my money these ipod products are overpriced paper weights in my opinion.

There's better players out there, and they already have video support (iAudio X5 for example). But I guess competition is good, and it's nice to see the iPOS finally start catching up on features. Now let's see them add a radio, line-in/out, USB-OTG and drag and drop functionality. Then they'd have themselves a nice little player. Oh, it'd have to reatil around 350$ to be competitive.

ipod video might make the ipod very dominant and can be a good idea especially ounce little johnny gets the porn on it

What just like an I-River H series? Which already supports video also, and has internal Mic and external mic?
And has far superior soundquality to an I-Pod
