I've noticed that some movie files won't let the slide bar move left or right. the movie itself will play ok, and will continue to play, but you can't skip to anywhere inside the movie. why is this? is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried more than one player? And what player are you using?

I'm using Windows Media Player, the latest version on XP. and it hasn't just been for 1, it's done it on about every 1 out of 20.

The codec used to encode the AVI file may be a cracked version Windows Media Codec which could be unstable! So when encoding, it is best to use latest codec.

Yes. I know. Its really annoying. No matter what player you use it will be the same. Its the codec and format the file was originally made with. There might be a prog that can change it but i havent found it yet....:cross
