friend having problem with spyware

Hey guys a buddy of mine has some nasty spyware on his pc that ad-aware and spybot cant seem to detect or get rid of. I have a screen shot of what he gets on his desk top. His internet explorer home page keeps setting to about:blank and book marks in folder called About Links and it has a few book marks inside. Im just going to go over his installed programs to see if I can find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

At this point I would say reinstall windows, the PC is already corrupt at this time. If you want to you can try Pest Patrol, it removes everything that is spyware related on the machine but it costs money. If you do use it, it is a great program, runs all the time and prevents spyware from being installed, it does not just remove it. Good Luck

thanks riderx that solved part of the problem :-) I managed to solve the other part. Took quite awhile to sort it all out but his computer runs like a top now.
