I wouldn't trust any of them ringtone advertisements, they send you to loads of different site, usually worm infested and with activeX controls wanting to install themselves! Even if it is real, they probably make you buy and subscribe to a ringtone first before you get any free.

im temped, when on the virge of a reformat, to give a few of those sites a visit. just see how bogged down my powerful pc can get with all the crapware on the net.

somehow, i suspect that it woudnt be nearly as bad as i would imagine, considering that there are people out there that see the flashing "warning" banners and scream "OMG MY PC IS BROADCASTING AN IP ADDRESS!", and click on that shit only to get infected each time dont need to buy a new pc every 15 minutes.

I have heard that the free ringtone things through jamster are a scam. If you read the fine print they charge you for one thing or another. They play on clueless kids and untech savvy. Avoid the free ringtone stuff.

Truth. There are huge archives (as in .zip/.rar) of ringtones and apps for all sorts of mobile phones, nokias especially. Just look through a BT search engine or on ed2k.
