Hi!

I am one of those unlucky ones to have a NAT-error without knowing why. And please believe me, before posting this I have been trying to get past this problem for weeks, before bothering you.

With my old ISP I never had problems with NAT, but since changing provider after a while I began having NAT-errors, that is, I can't open up specific ports. I always got a negative result with www.testmyports.com as well.

First of all, it is not computer dependent, since on friends network, after opening up the required ports, I always got green light in seconds. I am using Mac OS X, everything updated, Java as well. Got same experiences with firewall on/with open ports, and with firewall off: at mine yellow face, at my friend green one.

I am using a Zyxel Prestige 600 Series (645R) as xDSL modem and a NETGEAR MR814v2 router.

When I was using bittorrent without problems I never had opened up any ports neither on my router nor on the modem getting always a green face. Apparentely, the firewalls on both machines were off.
Then the green face in Azureus started showing up, resulting from a NAT error. I tried to open up every possible port, even trying higher ones (45000, 58000, ...), with the same result. I read all guides to get faster speeds with Azureus (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=17671), but with same results.

Do you think my provider can scan all ports diabling bittorrent downloads? The strange thing is that other p2p applications like kaz. or limew. work very fast.

Please give me some hints on how to avoid those NAt errors, or at least understand where from these can arrive.

Thanks in advance for your time!
