Ok, I've used kazza,WinMX,Ares & limewire.Out of them, Kazaa used to be real good for finding applications,mp3's & RARE MP3's too,Music videos & Movies. I've started using bearshare for months but recently found out it has spyware & viruses just like kazaa & the others. I had to uninstall both, & use a virus sweep along with adaware! Now my computers clean. Is there any version of kazaa or bearshare that I can get that won't put viruses & spyware crap on my computer? I heard the lite versions has spyware too but I don't know if that's true or not!

Lite version have no spyware. You heard that from another forum?

Although no spyware, I can't guarantee there won't be viruses. Kazaa = viruses

So my favorite program is bearshare! So if I get bearshare lite.. & do a scan & it has a virus & I erase it off. Is there a possibility that it won't come back or new viruses show up?

A quick search of programs at Zeropaid pays off.

(Great, now I sound like a salty regular at Zeropaid)

K-Lite 2.7's Official Homepage

It's got no ads, no spyware, and really cool features.

Like automatic fake-file detection, as shown in this screenshot: http://www.my-k-lite.com/images/screens/screen_0006.png

The little ladybug icons indicate fake files.

IMO, I would avoid ANY form of Kazaa like the plague!!! The OP stated they use Limewire...last I checked, isn't Limewire pretty much the exact same thing as Bearshare? They're on the same network, right?

they might use the same network. But they are seperated by making their own little limewire and bearshare islands. they're both very good so I reccomend either one. Just depends on if you like java or not basically
