i have a .exe crack and i like the background music so i want to extract it. reshacker doesnt work and i cant figure out any way to extract the exe, so how can i copy the music that's being output thru my sound card to some device? any ideas? software solution, preferably... any programs that can take what's being output to my speakers and push it into a file?

with the right tweaks winamp can sample from the sound card and save it to a file.

Super Mp3 Recorder Pro can record many sources: voice from microphone, Internet streaming audio, or music played by Winamp, Windows Media Player, Quick Time, RealPlayer, Flash, games, etc

hey thanks riderx, total recorder did the trick.

the file is a little noisy, like background noise as if i recorded it from my mic (i did make sure that i WASNT) but is there any way to reduce this? I processed it in audacity which fixed it a little but it still doesn't sound as much like the original exe.

Well, I'm not sure what the program is exactly, but if it's a game, you might just be able to find the soundtrack online.

Otherwise, try turning the recording volume down - if it's too high it'll just distort the recording
