Spybot has recently been finding some items that list .com and .net addresses but have an = 127.0.0.1 . I know that is my local address. But, should i let spybot get rid of it or is it harmless. Attached is a copy of scan.

Depending on the sites redirected to 127.0.0.1, it might or might not be desirable to keep the entries.

If the sites redirected are sites that you may want to visit, you would not be able to. I've seen some spyware that redirects Ad-Aware's and Spybot's websites to the localhost so you can't get to them.

I can tell you that in the default installation of Windows, there are no redirections to 127.0.0.1 other than the "localhost" name. So you may want to go ahead and get rid of them.

don't a modified host file have tons of redirects to 127.0.0.1? If i have a host file modified then would this be ok?

If there are any sites that you want to visit that are listed in the hosts file pointing at 127.0.0.1, then you should remove those lines. Otherwise the remaining listed will not be accessible.
