Downloaded it and haven't gotten any adware from the installation that I can find. They do like to make that ad as big as possible though...

Have people noticed that there seems to be no support for eDonkey anymore?

No need for it anymore. Neo Network has become so good, that Morpheus performs well enough with just Gnutella, NEO and G2.
FastTrack support has also been dropped.

If you really want eDonkey or FastTrack, just download KaZaa and eDonkey2000

Your right NeoNet has become very good, I seem to get more files from it than Gnutella (btw why is G2 not connected to by default? Should I add it?) However, it would be nice to have Edonkey and KaZaA results listed with other networks too. Especially Edonkey.

Other than that, like new interface pretty much, will have to play more to see if any improvements are needed, however definately better and more stable than version 4 (used v4 alot though I hated the interface). My downloads also seem to be going bit faster, this could just be a blip with more users downloading the new version, though for now I am fairly impressed. With advert for game hadnt been added to sidebar, though I suppose they need to make money. The interface is by far the best p2p interface I have seen. The only challenger is Shareaza (which was best before this) and Bittorrent because its just so nice and simple, like the [good?] old days.

and as far as i can tell morpheus seems to be listening for incoming TCP on port 113
maybe morpheus is using "Authentication Service / Identification Protocol (http://grc.com/port_113.htm)" ?!?!?
the protocol ports are configurable in the options and i think neonet is using one of those ports

Moron! This is not the incoming port

moron huh? you can do better then that. (i know i can)
i didn't say it was the neonet protocols incoming port, i was just wondering why morpheus was listening on port 113. i assume it's for the IRC server. and i assumed neonet is using the gnutella port for incoming.

i guess when i "assumed" i made an ass out of U, but not me :p

Morpheus uses GnucDNA for transfers, and supports tiger-tree hashing. Basically, every time Morpheus downloads a 'chunk', it throws it out and bans the sender if the hashes don't match.

2.:Wich ports do I have to open for Neo and Gnet?I want to have the ports for the netoiwrks open.
Morpheus picks a random port when it is installed. You can either just check what port it chose in Properties->Internet Connection or set the ports to be what you like. Morpheus uses a separate port for Gnutella (transfers) and NEOnet, and the NEOnet port is always one port above the Gnutella port. The hope is to get it all back down to one port eventually, though I can't say when that will be.

Thank you! The NeoNet incomming port is 7043 and the Gnutella one is 7042

Fast Track is a waste of time. Becides I understand that Sharman Networks did something to the new Kazaa 2.7 that does not allow K-KLite clients to work. Forget that crappy Fast Track time to let it die already. I am surprised anyone uses it. I'd rather use LimeWire 4.8.1 Pro than Kazaa. Nuff said about that. Just hope the new morpheus will take less CPU resorces than that of the V4. Plus I wunder of us Morpheus Ultra customers get an ad free version for paying for the M4? I have paid for M4, but didn't like the CPU hog. Please tell me if I get the extra priv as I do with V4.

Everyone is saying that morpheus 5.0 Beta isn't full of adware and spyware, i believe that it isn't full of spyware, but the adware, like hell that is a friggin lie. When i installed Morpheus 5.0.0.579, i did a scan and there were a bunch of adware programs installed. The ad's in morpheus 5.0 take your bandwidth away and its really annoying, why can't someone make a clean or lite copy of morpheus 5.0 when it comes out officially, for now, i would advice anyone having a bandwidth limit to avoid morpheus and wait till the official copy comes out when ever.

Be ashore, Morpheus 5.0 comes bundled with no Adware or Spyware. Yes, you'll see banner ads on parts of the interface, but this covers bills that need paying.

LimeWire isn't free of ads; it advertises LimeWire PRO within the interface.

a simple text message isn't quite the same as the full html page morpheus loads in the ad box though.
but hats off for removing the spyware that infested the other versions

We're coming very close to the final release, just them few more bugs need to be sorted before the final version gets released, you can help by downloading the latest Beta (5.0.0.754) and reporting your findings on the Morpheus forum: http://www.MorpheusForum.com
Remember, no Spyware or bundles before anyone starts saying anything.

Btw, thanks for giving me the neg rep, but still i need your help, we wanna make this perfect before it gets released as final, and if you use like norton antivirus all HTML ads get blocked off. :)

DONKEY! :P

well i didn't want to pee on your attempt to get betatesters by pointing out that the ad box loads iframes, redirects and javascripts. - unsafe
I wouldn't use morpheus even if you gave me the paid for version for free, and calling me a jackass sure won't get you any positive rep points, or get me to test your buggy ad-riddled software.
