Hi,

I have been using BitComet for a long time and I have been getting very good dowload speeds like 32 kilobytes kbps (I have a 256\64kbps (dl\ul) ADSL connection. But I have noticed that it doesn't perform too well in large swarms (over 200 peers). It gives download speeds from 1-15 kilobytes per second. I am not behind a router, so port forwarding is not the problem.

Although I am behind a software firewall (Sygate), all BT ports are open. The listening port is not in 688x range.

I have also noticed that the more the peers the slower the dload speeds. Two torrents which are currently running very slow are abc and xyz [edit]removed. Other peers are downloading at over 200 kilobytes per second.

Please help!!!

Thanks

try limiting your upload speed to 4-5kB/s

hmm, i'm dloading abc at 50 KBps right now (max peers - 44 max seeds - 9)
but when i try dloading xyz go down to to 5-15 KBps (max seeds - 33 max peers - 244)

no names please, BT has built in leech protection, so you're lucky if you are able to download faster then you upload. especially on torrents with more peers then seeds

you need to limit the amount of connections, too many can (theirs a word i can't think of which should go here) umm fuck your connection try limiting it to 50-60 that should do the trick.

i tried all the different possible combinations as suggested in this thread

reducing max uload speed reduces my download speed from 6 KBps to 2KBps

reducing max connections has no effect (i tried values b/w 25 and 60)

I highly doubt that program could do any real good.
