Alright this is weird and frustrating my mIRC worked fine then all of the sudden when i click on the EXE i get, "Windows cannot find the speicified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropiate permissions to acces this item." Ive reinstalled, removed all traces from the registry and reinstalled about 5 or so time im thinking of reformatting windows just because i know it would solve the problem, but i hesitate just because i would like to know what caused it and how i can fix it in the future any help is great thanks.

Well, as usual, make sure you're running antivirus and antispyware software.

Also, if you're clicking on a shortcut, make sure the Working directory is set to mIRC's folder - to check this out, right click on the shortcut, and choose Properties. It'll be under there.

If it's not that, idk - anyone else have any ideas?

yea im doing all that ive scanned with everything trewndmicro panda tds3 trojan hunter NOD KAP etc and nothing weird thing is in safe mode it will start right up i was thinking root kit or something but why would that stop me from accessing mIRC i dont ill keep thinking and any more ideas great

i think it was my anti restriciting access, (kaspersky) guess i will drop it for awhile, weird that it did that even with new EXE's i dont understand that at all guess ima try another anti back to Nod most likely ive never has a problem with it thanks for any help later
