In the future, we will be forced to grow foods faster. I don't think it's healthy. What do you think?

whats unhealthy about it?

legendsofaranna
May 7th, 2005, 11:21 PM
Your Hormones grow faster. Liver changes were found in mice fed on Genetically Engineered Soy Beans. This indicates that GE foods may cause serious disturbances in cellular function that may affect health. Genetic engineering may cause the creation of unexpected harmful substances. This includes poisons, mutagens (substances causing genetic changes that may be harmful) and carcinogens (substances causing cancer). Once released into nature the genetically engineered organisms and their altered genes cannot be recalled. They may spread widely and uncontrollably century after century, yes indefinitely. Scientists have warned for a number of potential hazards, some of which may be serious.

As long as it tastes the same and has no adverse effects (or is it affects?) I don't care. Crop rotation only lasts so long till the soil is unusable anyway.

The resident evil story might become true if we use it but this time, You eat it, you die, you are alive again. Resident Evil was a T virus. Expect a new virus in genetic foods. Take a look at this site.

http://www.psrast.org/virhaz.htm

Now, it's up to you to decide if you want to eat these types of food.

Again...if it has no adverse affects...I don't care..

Oh, and mushrooms are a carcinogen. People don't care about that...

A lot of foods we eat today have been genetically altered in some way.

You're a postwhore, legendsofaranna. What's with this recent kick on genetically modified foods? What inspired all this?

Mentioning "Resident Evil" all the time gets old. Real quick.

You just don't want to believe the possibility. All those facts out there. Isn't obvious it sounds somewhat like the T-virus?

You just don't want to believe the possibility.
You're right, I don't want to believe that a movie based on a video game is realistically possible because I don't want to waste my time on such ideas. Instead, I enjoy bashing people who post on various forums throughout the internet.

but you also post utter balls about things you have no clue about and have presented them as fact.256 posts in a few weeks all equally bollocks. And you wonder why your only companion is your fist.

I personally don't like the idea of it one bit. I grew up in the country where vegetables tasted like what they should. Do you really care if your tomato is perfectly round? I sure as hell don't! More and more profit is what it's really about. Perhaps Soylent green would better describe the future. LOL!

Anyways. Genetic research and modificaton on plants has been happening for quite a looooong time. It's really easy with plants. The techniques have improved trhougout the years. While there have been some setbacks, such as the yellow corn from Mexico a few years back, most of the plant based foods we see now are geneticly modified in some fashion. It will either be this process, or back to 'ol chemical methods. We now know, however, that the chemical methods proved a far greater risk to our health, and the environment.

Genetically modified foods are a little bit frightening. But so is all new technology.

GM foods could be a boon or a blight... They are capable of creating enough food for the whole world, but there are not distribution systemds to allow the starving to receive them. They could potentially create disease and antibiotic resistant insects, viruses etc, but so does the use of antibacterial soap.

I try to use foods that are organic and such, but I will use a factory farm produced veggie if it looks better or is cheaper. I am so cheap...

By the way, if it comes down to RE time, I want me some riot-gun lovin'.

Please do not debate in a kid's way by being rude to the other person. I know this because of overpopulation. I'm not a god but at least i'm smarter than a god. Overpopulation because people are living longer and more people are born. Nice ps3 hyperbole. If we don't use genetic foods, we won't be able to provide food to every since person and that includes you. And don't counter my thoughts by saying you could build more farms. How can we build more farms if there are so many buildings being made to provide shelter to person and that includes you. And don't counter my thoughts by saying you could build less by building tall buildings. How can farms receive photosynthesis if we use buildings to block the sunlight? And don't say we can infinite amount of wood to build our buildings. WIth more buildings and farms comes less forests. Currently, there is no post that I made that is nonsense. Does this look like facts? If you say no, please get some education. And I use my brain, not my fist because This is the internet, I can't punch you in the face. Please don't be rude and say are you a god? Please learn some manners. Please be a gentlemen. Respect others and others will respect you.

Increase cancer, or the CHANCES OF DEVELOPING cancer?

Are you going to edit your post now?

legendsofaranna
May 9th, 2005, 06:33 PM
No, I'm not going to since it basically means the same thing if you know what cancer is. And spooky, that's why you debate like a kid. You could have said you could use sunscreen. Do you use your brain a lot?

Potato
May 9th, 2005, 06:36 PM
I don't know anything about cancer, please explain. You like to pretend you're smart. Show me.

The definition of cancer is:
Any of various malignant neoplasms characterized by the proliferation of anaplastic cells that tend to invade surrounding tissue and metastasize to new body sites.

strange, it doesnt seem to mention the pain of seeing someone you love suffering as their sick from the chemotherapy and seeing them cry.

your a prat who thinks he knows it all because he has google but you will end up not knowing anything about life if you dont get out and live it.

legendsofaranna
May 9th, 2005, 06:54 PM
WOW, you know a lot about life. What do you know? Show me you know. You just skimmed through that article. No way you can read that fast and understand.

What do you do in your busy life? Debate good?

no i was just away taking a shower. But it looks like both of us are busy and don't have the time to explain what we know. Our debate ends here.
