I adore WinMX for its great variety of audio and video files. Sometimes I go crazy and go after a whole lot of stuff. Don't worry, I share lots of stuff, too!
Unfortunately, after 1 1/2 hours of all this activity, my DSL connection drops and I have to go reset the modem by unplugging and replugging the cord. This pisses off my sister like crazy, 'cuz it's her modem, too (and it's in her apartment).
Is there anything I can download that will fix this??:fire

Your problem, whether it's your modem not functioning properly, or something else, has nothing to do with the WinMX program.
What does 'connection drops' mean ? Does this mean you have no more internet connection whatsoever ? If you have to unplug your modem then I would suspect your modem is garbage. Your problem sounds like a hardware issue.

When I had dialup I used dial up networking to connect to the internet. Then when I got ADSL I also used dial up networking with my ADSL modem. They both had the same problem, which is that if approximately ten or more people were simultaneously uploading from me at the same time, the whole thing would die. So try limiting the total number of upload slots to a lower number, or also your bandwidth, to see if that helps.
