Dude, you need to lighten up. Just because somebody does not agree with everything that you are saying does not give you the right to be a jerk. And im not a troll, ya jerk. Heres what I was going to say before you so rudely banned me and rejected my opinions thus taking away my civil rights and freedom of speech.
i mean nothing personal, but i have a good idea about how it can/should (IHMO) be legitimized.
First of all make it so that you can listen to or preview songs in their entirety, on your computer only. Give the files some kind of DRM so if you purchase the file it is yours to do whatever you want with it.
So in other words, you can preview/stream anything (good quality) but to burn it or in other words make it portable away from your machine, make it some type of service. Itunes or whatever has the right idea, but wrong approach.
As far as legal or illegal i personally think its a mtter of using good judgement about what is right and wrong. just a thought.
You need to be more open to discussion on this forum instead of banning everyone that disagrees with you. How lame is that? Anyway who are you? You don't know everthing, and yes sales are down especially from movie pirating. The industry owns that material, not the public. If you have no conscience, it doesnt mean that others don't. I just wanted to express and share my thoughts and ideas with others (specifically people other than you), but you didnt like them so instead banned me. Get a life.
I've used P2P, but like I stated before in another post, the music I listen to is unavailable any other way (mainly christian hip-hop).

Look, when I buy a fucking blank cd there is a tarrif on it to compensate the music industry. That is all that is needed. Unfortunately even with climbing profits in the music industry, the industry is unable to see that artists are gaining advertising, and are selling more cds all the time. Dont even start quoting crap about what has been lost, as those specs are projected sales. You cant loose sales you never would have made. You are pissing with the wrong guy here, as I have played professionally, and have also worked as sound man with many bands and know how the industry works.

PS I dont mean to sound so grumpy, but if you knew how many times we have head the same arguments here you would understand. That plus people actually falling for the music industries lies, and BS.

1st off, leave hunter alone he is here to enforce the rules not to defend your freedom of speech.the rules are here for a reason, if they are not followed hunter is supposed to fix it. he is a nice a fair mod so quit fuckin with him and you won't find many supporters here on your views on p2p. 99% of the people here download stuff for free becuase of the record industry raping the consumer with high prices just so ther pockets get fat.to sum it up, if you don't like the rules here don't come here anymore.

i agree that the industry IS raping consumers. thats not the debate though. the debate is more about how far do we go when it comes to what we decide is "ours" for the taking, and whom, if anyone, is compensated. By the way, I AM in a band. If someone wanted to download my music, id be thrilled, but im not on a major label that spends millions of dollars to manufacture, distribute, and promote my music. I have a computer for that lol.
The point is, that eventually the courts will HAVE to decide what is fair for EVERYONE.

Only due to your lack of clarification. Do you often start off on the wrong foot in other areas of life as well?

im not an industry shrill, whatever that means, i just think that eveyone needs to get what is allowed to them. now metallica, and such on the other hand ARE in fgact greedy. what a lot of these bands dont realize is that a lot of their "new" younger fans will be for the first time, hearing their music from a p2p app. So, they need to recognise the power and strength that this has, and put some of those millions in to improve what we already have. If P2P stays underground forever, it will never survive.
A good anaogy would be Linux OS. Up until a few years ago, it was considered pretty much "underground" Now because of a few compaies that want to improve it for the average user, it has really started to grasp the market. The point im making is the same idea. what about a trial/shareware/try before you buy approach to music files?
thoughts....ideas.....anyone..?
I love getting banned you canadian piece of shit BTW nice army up there! lol lol
got about 14,000-15,000 troops? that oughta cover it. good thing for you we won the cold war or you wouldnt even be here to be a little pussy liberal coward FUCK YOU CANADIAN!
Looks like 7 is going to be your lucky number dick.
Please ban this mental miget know Hunter before I lay into him big time. Damn Bigot!

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but on ZP, you don't have any rights. Your entire existance as a member of ZP is a privilage, not a right. ZP is privately owned. That means that the owner(s) have complete control over what is and isn't hosted on this site. because of the size of the site, as well as time factors, the governing power is passed on to moderators, who then have the ability to supress what they see fit(IE, you.)

Wow your an asshole, good that you were banned X amount of times.
Flaming Trolls like you need to fuck off and get a life, ask mom for 10 bucks to hang out at the arcade or something.
Take your shit elsewhere.
If you want to be an asshole on your own forums hosted on your own servers, feel free.
In the mean time the owners of this forum (and of course the server it's hosted on)
don't want shit disturbers who spam the recent threads window with their garbage.
and abuse their members and moderators.
