i use Kazaa and it happened many times that other user froze my computer (blue screen, then automatic reboot). I have WinXP, installed all the security patches from MS, use a virus scanner and Tiny Firewall (the free old one). So is there a way to protect myself, should I use another shareprogram than kazaa? Any suggestions?

Well as long as you have a virus scanner & a firewall, then there shouldn't be any worries. I may not know much about XP, but I do know that the "built-in" firewall that comes along with it may (and will) cause issues with other programs you have. XP has a lot of compatibility issues when it comes to P2P programs (as I hear a lot of these days!) So if you're worried about being protected, you already are. Maybe I'm not the right one to ask as I'm not too familiarized with XP.

wow thats the first i have heard of this, may just be something screwed up with your intsall, you may need to reinstall XP if NOTHING else has worked (last-step resort)
and are you absolutly sure that its another user doing this, like i said, may just be ur comp

XP Blue Screen, never seen it.never heard of it before.
As for the XP Firewall, it's not a true Firewall, delete it and get another one...like ZA or something.

I don't trust Sharman/Kazaa, so I am not using Kazaa v2 now. But, on previous versions there is a option for max. performation while computer is idle, if your version has this option, you should uncheck it!
If that still doesn't work, uncheck the box to be a supernode.
Otherwise, use another p2p program or may be others can help!

I have XP Pro and Home and when I used WinXP Firewall it caused problems with eDonkey, and speed problems with KaZaA, so disable it, it doesnt work all that good anyway
