A Word from Shane Felux Director of "REVELATIONS"
"You could trace everything back to 1977 where sitting in a darkened theater I was whisked away into Star Wars. It's what led me to majoring in directing and acting. You could maybe even say it was Kevin Rubio's Troops that brought that spark, that desire to make a film into being again because it was Troops that brought on the new wave of fan films. Films I had watched and decided would be a great stepping stone back into the world of directing.
I thought about it for awhile and realized that there would never be a "good" time to do it. There was a full time job, a spouse, and now a child. It was only going to get harder. Technology? Well that wasn't an excuse either. It was available and affordable.
So I told Dawn, put up or shut up. If you want to make a movie then write me that script. Three months later, draft one was in my hand, several actors were cast, the camera was purchased, and the rock quarry was booked."

Check out this movie, its 47 minutes long and had to have a fat budget. Its actually better than the Lucass movies, except the second rate acting but I can look over that its so good. The CGI is surpisingly well done and very beautiful and turns into a good story!!!!!

How Do You Find Such Cool Stuff Dude?
Hit all the boards! lol
I check some of the indy film based boards and bingo! I've been having trouble with my pc and not been able to download much but I checked the BT link on that site and grabbed the film in 11 minutes (250meg, not bad) without a system crash thank god. This is the type of thing BT is made for, helping budding film makers. This thing will be hot.

What Mels Said... also, if your a starwars fan, check out www.theforce.net , huge star wars fan site, with tons of links, including an archive of fan films!
I saw this a couple days ago. I love the shipyard chase scene! They did do a great job with the CG, it's incredibly immersive and detailed, and they added a ton of effects too, it's definitey one of the ones worth watching.

Grayson (http://theforce.net/fanfilms/nonsw/grayson/) is another kick ass film. I never thought Robin could be made into a good superhero movie, but sheeeittt, thats awesome. They need to let that guy loose on a full film.
Gotham's Son Returns! Two decades after the golden age of superheroes has passed, hope has abandoned Gotham City. Corruption has infected Gotham's highest levels of power and led to the death of its greatest champion. Now, former boy wonder Dick Grayson will emerge from the shadows of retirement to avenge the murder of his legendary mentor.

I stumbled accross this somewhere(neowin forums a few weeks ago I think?) ) but didn't give it a second thought. I figured it would suck. I just dl'd and watched it. I'd have to say, not bad. Acting wasn't the greatest but the special effects definitely were a pleasant surprise. Overall I'd say a pretty good job.

It was released april 16th I believe, it may have been leaked somewhere, I bet its one of the films from the Georfe Lucass film contest. I heard 30,000 people showed up for the convention this year. Thats amazing and sad at the same time.
I found the story was pretty good, with the twist it adds tward the end.

to say that something is "the best fan movie ever" really doesn't say much
if anything it's a "fan tv pilot", not a movie, as a feature length film is 90 minutes minimum
to be honest, i'd be embarrassed to even watch it, because like a LAN party, it is just one step too far for me. i'm not that kind of a geek
i'd like to keep at least a thread of dignity, at least in my mind

While it may not be "feature lenth", it IS a movie. I didn't know it was going to be so long when I started watching the streaming version but I got into it after a bit and I'm not a fan of star wars like I was when I was young. I love the old ones but so far the new films have been shite. I mainly like to support indy film because thats what I myself would like to get into.
We all know what kinda geek you are and its not all that dignified either, I hate to break it to ya! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck! Just watch it like you would any film, its not like porn or anything.

It is the best independent that I have ever seen.
I thought it needs more dialogue explaining things and the acting isn't that good, but the CGI is surprizing good.
Most of all it is an independent film so I would try to support it no matter how good it is.

I would like to see the in detail "making of" video for this movie. It seems it will not be long before people will be able to put together quality special effects movies on a shoe string budget. I've been trying to write several scripts for a long time with the main concern being the storys had to be shot entirely in a setting that would be very cheap. Looking at this movie I'm starting to think about something grandeur in scale. I wonder how they got 100's of people to help out for free. I suppose a lot of people are willing to take a shot at anything to try and make it to the big time.

This was just awesome. The lightsaber fights at the end are among the best I have ever saw in any of the star war movies.
