Meh, its Beta 2. :mellow See the link http://www.blubster.com/download/setup2b2.exe, Also on top of the window it says: Beta 2.0. Plus it still has the same connection problem and the high CPU usage problem and the high RAM sucking up problem. Meh.

When in doubt, use onomatopoeia:

Buh-duhm, buhm, tish!

Im pretty sure that all versions will be called "Beta" because blubster is a work in progress. But believe me, This is much better. The bugs are gone and it rocks.

Pablo decided to name them all BETA because its always in progress. You can call it 2.0 final...samething. It's the real thing. He just named it beta because it will be worked on for the future to.
Its the same as Napster...Napster was still in BETA when it ended.

But I thought 2.0 was suppose to fix the connection problems...this Beta/Final version does not.

The long awaited, much heralded new version of Blubster has finally arrived. It is available at the soon to be revamped Blubster.com (ßwill be link in article) Blubster has recently passed the 50,000 user mark, despite delays in the new version. However all of Blubster 2.0’s new features explain the reason development took a little longer than expected.

With 2.0 Blubster has become, perhaps the first ever 100% decentralized network. Unlike the current version (1.2.3), 2.0 it will not depend on servers, metaservers, gateways or host caches. Due to this, at this time Blubster will not enable non-UDP connection. The non-UDP connection would prevent the network from being able to be fully decentralized, so it is just too high a price right now.

Blubster 2.0 has many new features. The new feature that maybe the biggest surprise, is .OGG support. Blubster is the first music community to embrace the new open source format. Ogg Vorbis is considered superior to MP3 by many people. This is because Ogg Vorbis is capable of higher quality at smaller file size. Other new features include Multi-source downloading, decentralized Buddy List, Integrated IRC chat, Auto-Resume, and File Queuing. This will mean an end the hated error/canceled messages that have plagued the current version.

Well first of all I cant connect with this one. Secondly when I share my files with this blubster it loads them all up then removes them from the list.

Beta 1 was much better than this. I am glad though it gives you the option to install the crappy virus scanner thing.

I Think the player thing they have changed looks better but still needs work though.

If you're connected, but cant download, go to config and then downloads, and put 10240 and 10260 in Firewall options.

I like it but...

All my oggs arent bitrate 64. I have many different variables ranging from 80 to to 256. I hope it gets fixed soon.

If you are having CONNECTING problems with the new BLUBSTER 2p0 and are using ZoneAlarm (free or pro version) try Disabling zone alarm...i was having connection problems until i disabled the old freeware version of zonealarm 2.1.44 or something like that. I use two firewalls. Atguard 3.22 (do a websearch for it or check out fosi's site) and i did try zonealarm (most versions but am unhappy with its affect on my p2p programs) even when zonealarm gave the blubster program full access privilages both in and out to all addresses it was still blocking blubster from connecting to the network. disabled it and was connected in less than 3 seconds.

cheers,
-DM

Hmm it works for me... the alito problem seems to be fixed but I guess some other people caught it.... Maybe you should refer to my old thread about 2.0 b1 problems I had cuz it will probably explain a few things though I decided that once it starts it is hopeless.
