I recently "bought" this film through a local "provider" of mine and it's really cool. Computer graphics are amazing!

Actually I haven't bought a film in about a year! See all the trailers at Movieweb.com (http://www.movieweb.com/movies/film.php?2678). I recommend "You want to play tough" and "Unfair fight".

Old Boy's first half was interesting.
I thought the ending was cheap and contrived.
Kung Fu Hustle was great.
I wonder what stupid hack editing was done (if any) to the US theatrical release. Gee, I hope they somehow fit in the "Kung Fu Fighting" song somewhere... that would be novel.

I hated it when I saw it in Chinese/whatever...maybe dubbed/subbed it would be better? dunno. DEF not going to EVER win over Sin City in my book

Yeah, i got this while back since it got released on DVD way before the USA release date. So far crouching tiger is far more superior, but kung fu hustle has a funny side to it that just sets it on top of the rest. Maybe the way they made a spoof of themselfs in to lighten the kung fu mood.

They're both awesome, but I gotta give it to Sin City - more groundbreaking.
Still A++++ for Kung Fu Hustle. Don't know why they waited so long to release it over here. I saw the Chinese version about 8 months ago.
Has everyone seen Shaolin Soccer? Also with Stephen Chow.... Almost as good!

Maybe you should hang out here for a while and make yourself known rather than begging for invites from strangers. I have three invites to oink left. Sorry :icon_bril

I just watched the english dub of Kung Fu Hustle and while the voice over acting is OK for the most part, they changed some of the lines and ruined a few of the jokes.
Like:
Brother Sum: Ever killed anyone?
Sing: I've always thought about it.
Now:
Brother Sum: Ever killed anyone?
Sing: Ive always wanted to.
WTF? My favorite line ruined. They do shit like that throughout the whole dub.
Two thumbs down

it is nice to see martial arts films get the long overdue respect they deserve. there are many great matial arts films made over the years that were overlooked in the US. if you wanna see some good one's rent some made by the shaw brothers who made many great films.
*ONE MORE THING.....i used to belong to a great torrent site that dealed in mostly martial arts films but it closed awhile back. does anyone know of another site that deals in alot of martial arts flicks?(classic & new)
if so either post a link or pm me......thanks.

While I think shaolin soccer is great, IMO its not on the same level as Hustle.
I recently made an encode of Samurai Reincarnation. Its a pretty good horror martial arts film but I havent shared it with anyone yet

If you like Ong Bak then you need to see Tom Yum Goong - it's basically Ong Bak 2. Same actor, same ridiculous stunts and action.

Ill have to check out these two movies. Are they comedies? I'm off to look them up

No, they're crazy violent Muay Thai action movies... All stunts are real and no comedy. But you'll see more broken limbs per minute than any other film...!

It's also part of most codec packs. For example the klite codec pack that most people tend to have it is included, but you have to specifically check it during installation, so most people don't install it.
This will teach WMP how to handle sub/idx files. The .srt files are the 2nd default.
