Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew any p2p that run with a Broadband router?

Ares seems best, WinMX works, and I can get a some speed prom Bittorrent. I tried uding port forwarding for portforward.com however, http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp-dhcp.htm asks you to open comand but I gt followig pop-up error

16 bit ms-dos Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Chose "close" to terminate application.

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance!

What have you tried specifically? You said something about port forwarding...which ports did you forward?

Side note: Use cmd instead of command in XP.

I tried to set a static IP however this did not work. I think its because I could not properly locate the DNS Servers (I could only find one!) I believe you need to set a static IP for port forwarding.

Anyway, Ares and Limewire and WinMX seem to work, but why not eDonkey or Bittorrent (Properly)?

That guide is a good one for setting a static IP. Make sure you copy your dns servers from ipconfig correctly when you are instructed to do so. After you have set the static IP, I'm sure portforward also has a guide applicable to the router you're using. Even instructions for Bittorrent and eDonkey.
