Hey guys,
One of my friends, heh... instaled messenger plus!
and even after I told him not to instal the add crap, he hit I accept anyway. Now, I got a piece of add crap I can't removed, no uninstal option, did an add aware scan in safemode, did a spybot scan just now. It doesn't seem to help. I thought ending the iexploorer.exe proccess would at least stop it but it keeps opening it in the background etc, and it's pissing me off!
Any help would be good. It's pissing me off and it's on the laptop I do school stuff on[I own it, though thank god]

Microsoft anti spyware or a full-on scan with norton antivirus 2005!

Yep, check out M$'s antispyware - if that doesn't take care of the problem, grab a copy of Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware

Also, if you can track down the name of the spyware you have, try googling it - usually you can find some info on cleaning it up

I was pretty confident that Messenger Plus is not spyware... perhaps it was just bundled with spyware? In which case I didnt think it was bundled with any spyware either...

but to my suprsise I searched google for "messenger plus spyware" and imagine my suprise: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=messenger+plus+spyware

Messenger Plus! is a freeware. You are even encouraged to send it to your friends! Of course, it does not contain any type of spyware or trojan. The optional sponsor program can be installed during the setup, risk free! For those who want to support the development but prefer not to install the sponsor program, you are encouraged to visit the online Messenger Plus! store, or give the developer a minute of your time by sending a postcard.

It's just bundled with optional adware, that you can unselect at installation. If adaware and spybot dont find anything, maybe your friend didnt install the addon.
