If you're looking for a good magazine about computers, Maximum PC is an excellent source of info on computer hardware. www.maximumpc.com . They also have put out their own series of books about computers: http://www.maximumpc.com/features/feature_2004-09-27.html

Big fan of MaxPC... kinda looking for one huge fat book, kinda like an encyclopedia of PC junk.
Just wanted suggestions in case someone's familiar with one of them.
Internet sources are not always available, or reliable.
