After seeing the mess that Lokitorrent created is it wise to register on bit-torrent sites? I'm no computer expert so please do not laugh when I say this but does it not make you easier to chase down in the event of an MPAA purge? Not that i'm that worried about them as i'm a non-US citizen but i loathe to sign up for things?

Is it 'safe'?

yes, loki was just all fucked up but it does not mean all of them will do that.

country of hosting for a site can really make a difference, before you register do some research and see if its cool. There are many forums where people can give you feedback based on their own experinces.

Good luck and welcome

If you dont want to sign up, use a site that doesnt request it:
www.mininova.org
www.torrentspy.com
etc

It is so easy for them to screw you by watching trackers that shutting down and using logs is just plain hard work.
