I am trying to figure out which is the best program to setup a small P2P network amount a small group of friends? Basically, I want to find a program that will allow us to share pictures, music, etc, but control access to the network.

Any pointers or help is appreciated? One aspect of this is that it needs to be fairly straight forward for the members to join as they are not computer savy.

DC++ sounds like a good bet... make a hub there and invite them all in. I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure you could find someone here that does.

Or IRC, don't know if it would be better or not, but it's sorta the same concept. Make a channel, invite them all in, and you can send files back and forth. I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure you could find someone here that does.

With IRC, you could make a private channel.

Otherwise... what was that one that winamp guy was working on.... whatever that was, it was kinda neat.
