I love Kung Fu Hustle. Even if the fights weren't totally sweet (which they are), the comedy alone is worth it... like when he stabs himself with 3 knives.... oh how I laaaauuuugghed.

I was meaning to mention this one to you knowing you were more than likely aware of it. This looks ot be the comedy of the year.

At first I thought it was going to be crap until I read who behind it. It will be awesome! I have not read one negative review on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373074/) either and thats saying something!

"With jaw-dropping fight sequences by Yeun Wo Ping (famed action choreographer of Kill Bill Vol.1 & 2 and The Matrix) Kung Fu Hustle will blow you away!"

"Yuen Wo Ping manages to take a scene that appears to be rehash of the Burly Brawl (hundreds of suits against one guy) and manages to make it not only fresh, but a thousand times more exciting and intense. These fight sequences demand the attention of any cinephile who claims themselves a fan of marital art cinema. Wachowski's take not, this is how you direct Yuen Wo Ping to this artistic peak."

Burly Brawl is my favorite fight scene even if I can tell the CGI parts.

Stephen (Shaolin Soccer) Chow is fairly new to me but I will be keeping an eye out for his future films.

I just watched 'What the Bleep Do We Know!?' . I thought it was an incredible muse... A great movie to get someone thinking... It mentioned all the things we don't have answers for. I love these kinds Science films. It did a great job explaining how to best question reality and which questions to ask yourself when thinking about 'why are we here?' , 'what is reality?' , 'who are we?' , 'which direction is time flowing?' ...
A statement I liked was,

"There's a great mystery, called the mystery of direction of time. There's a certain sense in which the fundamental laws of physics that we have, don't make any interesting distinctions say between past and future. For example, it's a puzzle from the standpoint of the fundamental laws of physics, why we should be able to remember the past, and not have the same kind of epistemic access to the future. It's a puzzle, from the standpoint of these laws why we should think something like, by acting now, we can affect the future, but not the past. These things, that we have a different kind of epistemic acces to the past than the future. That we have a different type of control by acting out over the future than we do over the past. These things are so fundamental to the way we experience the world, that, that it seems to me not to be curious about them, is to be 3/4 of the way to being dead."

It was a great flick, well produced, with great explainations from doctors and physicist etc...

Yuen Woo Ping played a small part in Kung Fu Hustle, as the bum who sells martial arts manuals.
He was a student/slave in the same Beijing Opera school from which Jacky Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao attained their skills, albeit a few years earlier. (Yeun being their teacher's name, Jacky Chan has also gone by the name of Yeun Lo)
Another attendee was Yuen Wah, who played the male landlord (also seen in Jacky Chan's Police Story 3:Supercop).
Woo Ping choreographed Jet Li's (in my opinion finest) film, Fist of Legend, a remake of Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury. The Wachowski's saw this one and were convinced he was the man to create their martial arts scenes.

Class dismissed. More later. ;)

Some places are more secure than others. BT is a fools game though, I know i'm wasting my breath (its so fast, Uggg!) its up to the user on what risks they are willing to take. Me myself, I couldnt stand to be sued for 150,000 dollars per movie. I stick with open nap mostly and get stuff from my friends there.

Nothing is 100%

Ive been using a program called Utatane because thats what the server boss wants people to use for some reason. It works well though. I was using winmx for it for a long time but its frowned upon and most people will ignore you if its used.

Haven't watched it yet, but the inclusion of Robin Williams is what will make me pick it up. That, and it's on MVP at Hollywood.

It's showing up on usenet, and soon to my screen.

I like Robin WIlliams when he takes his balls out of his purse and portrays interesting characters... like he did in One Hour Photo and Insomnia. (oh okay...Mork too... shozbot)

Oh, and by the way. I'm 3/4 the way through Kung Fu Hustle and its fucking brilliant! The humur is subtle over all but sometimes outrageous but the whole production is top notch. I could really rave on and on! Its much better than I expected from first impressions. The ad's and trailers do no justice to this master work. Now to watch the rest!

I wonder should I recomend it to Modestass---

Man, when he gets stabbed by the three knives and bitten by the cobras, then chased by the lady landlord and it turns into Loony Tunes... I ... I ... it's just brilliant.

Mels, your body snatcher avatar is pimp.

... and on your second point... you could, but it's going to be hard to tear him away from American Ninja 4. (no offense)

TY, I think its fitting! lol

I did laugh my ass off at the knives part and when his friend stuck it back in, lol. The land lord is funny too. Is the guy at the first of the movie that shoots the chick, is that the guy from Ichi the killer? He looks familar. I've seen him in something else.

SanDiegoKid

I looked at IMDB (under "Gong Fu"), and he's either Axe Gang Boss (pretty sure), or Crocodile Gang Boss... and neither were in Ichi.
