I have a question about Clients and Networks:

Right now I am running:
FastTrack: K-Lite
Ed2k: eMule (I'm probably gonna scrap this one though because I have a router and it's giving me a low id and dramatically slowing my downloads)

So my question is, what are the best clients for these Networks: FastTrack, eD2k, Gnuttella, and possibly Direct Connect (i.e., DC++).

P.S. Anyone know anything about Kazaa Lite Ressurection? Also, what is Bittorrent all about and what network is it on?

Thanks in Advance

hey scroll the right side of this page on the top of this thread you will see a search area, you should input some of those programs into there one by one so u can see what others say about the topic ok.

do that now so u can learn to get information for yourself.

the thing is, your are never going to get an unanimous opinion of which the best client is
everyone has their tastes, what i suggest is dling some of these and just trying them out until you find a good one for each

btw, behind a router you will always get low id on the ed2k network

welcome to zp!

I Have To Disagree, I Have A Linksys Router And All I Use Is Emule And I Have Never Had It Give Me A Low Id.

well i may be wrong, are you sure you dont have dmz enabled? or the ports forwarded? my point was that behind a router without any port forwarding or dmz you will always get low id. as i said, i may be wrong

Maybe I Am Just Lucky But All I Do Is Install Emule And Adjust Upload And Download Speeds And The Id Is Always High For Me

how many types of these threads have been started? First off, the fasttrack network does have a shitload of files but at the same time most of the files are fake. If you want to continue using the fasttrack network then i would probably check out trustyfiles. Trustyfiles also has g1, g2 and bitorrent implemented into it. http://www.trustyfiles.com/ or there is also a version with bitorrent implemented into it. http://www.razorpop.com/sw/update/TrustyFiles.exe. I wouldn't use fasttrack at all though because most of the files also have viruses.

For the ed2k network i would probably have to go with the overnet-edonkey hybrid. Fast speeds with two networks hosting the same information.

For Direct Connect, that is not really a single network, they are different networks hosted inside of one program. People host their own files while doing a peer-to-peer transfer. i would stick with DC++, that is probably your best bet.

Peace..

My favorite clients for those networks are:

FastTrack: (don't use so I don't know)
Ed2k: eMule (http://www.emule-project.net/)
Gnuttella: Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com/forum/)
Direct Connect: DC++ (http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/)
BitTorrent: ABC (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/)

BitTorrent is the king of file sharing if you don't know about it you are missing out.
