One of the cities in my area is planning on public wi-fi internet access for the downtown area. Meaning that people will be able to access the internet from their laptops. So my first question is, does everyone in the area use the towns IP address to connect to the internet? Im assuming that they would, considering its Public Internet Access. And my 2nd question is, if people were to download music or movies while connected to that public IP address, would the RIAA or MPAA be able to sue the town? I know that this happens alot on college campuses and i dont know of any colleges that have been sued as of yet. Could they trace what was downloaded back to specific computers? Im curious how all this works. Please enlighten me if you will!!!
