Lifted from tsafa1's post below.
To find the number of threads that Ants is using.
1. Ctrl + Alt then Del to open the task manager
2. Click "View" then "Select Columns..."
3. Check "Thread Count" and click "Ok"
4. Click the "Processes" tab
5. The file called "javaw.exe" is Ants, scroll to the right to see the threads column
ok this is very important. The latest versions 9.7t and after, are scaleing the way they are supose to, but the thread count for me is out of controll. This may be related to my large shares. Gwren saw something similar on a smaller scale. I saw my ants thread count go as hight as 4,500. Then it droped my shared directories out of the library and started rehashing them. Lucky i had them backed up.
We need to know if this happens to anyone else and what your thread count is. you will find the thread count for ants by going into the task manager and clicking Processes. then in the tool bar select view and then colums. Check the boxthat says thread count.
i will attach a picture so you know what to look for. The one in the picture shows 748. Currently i am running at 1,500 . We need to get an idea of what is going on your pc's also post an avg cpu usage.
other the this thread issue my transfer speeds are ok about 12 kb/s avg upload speed over 5 hours.
guys, give me more info on the threads. That is the first thing that needs to come under control right now. Most people do not have the cpu power and memory that i do and they will crash with high threads. Version 9.7 u is out and may have fixed this, or not, i need feedback.
cpu average about 15%, 500 threads, 90 mb memory.
Sharing 3000 files totaling 19 gb.
