I just saw a tv ad for this movie which I have never heard of but looks very interresting. Anyone seen it. It comes out on video soon or is out, im not sure.
"WHAT THE #$*! DO WE KNOW?!" is part documentary, part story, and part elaborate visual effects and animations. The protagonist, Amanda, played by Marlee Matlin, finds herself in an Alice in Wonderland experience when her daily, uninspired life literally begins to unravel, revealing the uncertain world of the quantum field hidden behind what we consider to be our normal, waking reality. The fourteen top scientists and mystics interviewed in documentary style serve as a modern day Greek Chorus. The chorus members act as hosts who live outside of the story, and from this Olympian view, comment on the actions of the characters below. They are also there to introduce the Great Questions framed by both science and religion, which divides the film into a series of acts. Through the course of the film, the distinction between science and religion becomes increasingly blurred, since we realize that, in essence, both science and religion describe the same phenomena.

I found this about a month ago. I wish more people knew about it. Math is the Universal Language. If it could show us how to construct buildings and complicated electronics, then perhaps theres quite a bit more about 'our worlds' then we ever knew about. Thats what this is about.

With this kind of stuff being thought of why are the public schools more sports oriented then math and science.
You might want to read the book "Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. It goes more into the scientific end of the theroy. Here are a few sites dealing with the subject.

I saw it this weekend, and it was ok. It was funded by a man who made his money in software, they were going to produce a documentary and was given a budget of $225,000. At some point the benefactor decided to fund it at $5 million dollars and even paid for distribution, all because of the idea.
The movie is a good think piece, and is a unique documentary. If I had 5 million I could produce something better, imoho.
I differ on some of the connections they make, it is an interesting piece but they try to connect science with spirtuality with addictions and human biology. We live in an addicted society, but the solution is not as easy as they present.
If you like this, try to find anything by richard bandler (reading about his murder trial is interesting also), also there was a movie called "fractals". If a second movie was created, I think it would be around the concept of "flow".
If I made a movie like this one, I would call it "The %^&* they know". Up until recently they thought that the mind was unchanging, unable to regenerate brain tissue, now research shows this is wrong. Also, not mentioned in the movie, but what I know, that every experience you have physically changes your brain. After reading this text, or any text, you are biologically different. (scientific fact)

I loved this film!!! It raises a ton of questions, it definitely got me thinking. They are really good at explaining things too, they put to words many things of which I tried to explain to my friends but to no avail, because it was all so complex and 'unexplainable' on my part....
One part I liked was about the natives on the islands that Christopher Columbus sailed to...
How it could be possible that the natives were completely unable to see the approaching ships, because they had no idea, no knowledge, not even the belief, that something like a ship could exist. That making something to travel on water, never crossed their mind. That if there was a boat offshore a little ways, all they'd notice are the ripples in the water, and the boat wouldn't exist to them. So they thought nothing of it, and when Columbus and crew came ashore, it was a sudden and inexplicable experience for the natives....
I mean, if you think about it, and are open to the theory, it makes sense...
Now that I've been thinking about it.. it would explain a few things about UFO's or possibly extra terrestrial life forms.... That we can't see them, because we know nothing of their existence... their reality...
Very interesting stuff.
I recommend seeing it. Even if you think it's bullshit, or if your not into these types of films.

Yes, I understand and believe what they were saying about the natives. This can be proved with pictures today. People can be fooled by their expectations. Your mind will see what you expect to see and sometimes you can only see some things when someone else, who knows what to look for, points it out to you. I must watch this again because I was really tired when watching it the other night and I fell asleep about the part of the wedding. Still, I loved it. It really made me think about shit. I know religious people will hate it though. I'm a half ass Buddhist but I can't deny finding truth in these theories
