Digi Video Expert needed.

I've just started to use VirualDub, and the DivX Pro Codec.

Can somebody tell me the settings for near-as-dammit no quality difference. i.e. the equivalent of 160Kb/sec for Mp3, which sounds good to me.

I can't lower the quality too much as the original file isn't that great to start with.

Thanks.

I was panicking a bit. I used DivX 5.0.0 and it's output was garbled. I've since upgraded to 5.0.2 the newest release and it's fine. I thought it was me.

So far to today, I've manged to compress a nice lady having anal sex. I hope to apply the codec more usefully in the future and encode women having vaginal sex. (Joke, mostly)

When I mentioned MP3 it's not the audio part I want to compress, it's the video. I was using an anology. I wanted to know the bitrate and/or settings I should put DivX at to get a file that doesn't lose much in quality, but still gives a a good file size. Like 160 Kb/s MP3, good file size good quality, I want the equivalent video settings.

I've already posted on the DivX forum. I'll try that box thing, but I think 'm nearly there so I might not.

F*ck 5.0.0, the little bitch.

I'm doing a MCP in VB6, but I'm not knee deep cos I keep my books on a shelf. :-)

Feck knows how I can apply this stuff. I don't even use any software apart from video and audio players, so I really have to force myself into other peoples heads to try and find things to write. I can see myself giving up on learning to program after this exam, and getting a new career that might give me some ideas about what to write.

Some of the problem is VB, it's such a high level language, you just can't do good things with it. Maybe.
