New Virus For Us

Suddenly all your app icons change and anything "exe" gives you a "path not found" error. But your web browser still works for you to read this?

You downloaded and ran a virus called the MIAOUS3 virus. It's supposed to show you a dirty pic, but it does damage also.

Registry keys are changed.

The virus adds
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile "AlwaysShowExt"

and the following keys are modified
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile "(Default)"
From 'Application' to 'EXE file'

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\DefaultIcon "(Default)"
From '%1' to 'C:\_cd_N5\secret\MIAOUS3\MIAOUS3.exe'

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command "(Default)"
From '"%1" %*' to 'C:\_cd_N5\secret\MIAOUS3\MIAOUS3.exe %1'

The virus is 328,125 bytes big but it is a little smaller when zipped, rar'd or ace'd. So it can fool you into thinking it's a harmless codec, but not even norton can stop it.

To fix your registry, just fix these four keys, reboot, then when your PC's apps run again, do a system restore.

When I think of anyone stupid enough to click on an executable or any other file just to see, a pr0n pic I have to laugh. If you are dumb enough to execute a file just to see pr0n You deserve what you get.

Just do a search on google, or any other search engine and find one of the Many sites available out there for viewing such things, most of them are free and you wont get some script kiddies birthday present staring you in the face.

but if you enjoy getting virii and worse yet trojan programs activating on your system then by all means go ahead and keep on clicking those executables, you will make someone out there very glad you did.
