Can anybody help me out with Filetopia? [Archive]

I've been a regular user of Filetopia for quite some time not but the last few days I havnt been able to connect to the server. The program just freezez at the registration server. I've tried reinstalling, changing directory etc., but nothing seems to do the trick.

Can anybody help me out?

filetopia used to have a program to let you select what server you connect to, but it's been years since i've used filetopia

I haven't used it in a couple of years but it works fine here.

how about unistalling the program first then reboot computer. Then run reg cleaner, then reinstall the program, then reboot.

I've tried all of the suggestions above. Nothing worked :mellow

Does anybody have a working server.dat file for the prog that they could copy and send to me :green4 ?

Could be the solution.............. I dont know........

I'll pm you my settings - maybe 1 of those files are corrupt. Old settings sometimes cause freezes.

Make sure your using the latest version 4.x. Check your firewall. Sometimes you have to press "Connect" several times to get connected.

I was using filetopia since a few months ago. And I format the hard drive on the middle of March 2005. Since then (After I reinstalled my winXP) I can't login to Filetopia. Always seeing "Reserving username, please wait." I can't pass this step always. You can also see the picture here. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/VikingPrincess/FTproblem.jpg

The spaces in the nickname may cause a problem try "PrincessDimple"
