what is the best program for scanning for back doors?

Well in the process of running the program you could monitor all your connections by using netstat with the appropriate switches in the cmd prompt.

netstat -n (doesn't resolve hostnames)
netstat -an (includes 'listening' connections)
netstat -ano (for all connections and process id's)

But the best defense is to wait on other folks to test it out and report feedback before going ahead with something like this imho.

Even if we were to scan the file and nothing malicious was found that still doesn't mean the file is clean. New viruses and trojans are released every single day. There is no guarantee that it would be detected. If you expect this client to catch on you should be prepared to ease the mind of anyone who might be suspicious about the program. Making the client open source would definately be a good way to do that.

I agree. It's pretty obvious just looking at the "features" list in the guys post that he is hawking a leeching tool.

"no ratio", "fake rank", "unshare complete files".

someone boot this idiot.
