I would agree with what your avatar says... Shareaza! I like it because I'm spoiled for choice with its 4 networks!

I haven't sampled the litter yet, but i used to use the original BT client, then I tried BT Experimental, and now I'm on ABC, so far it's working great.

Abc is good for multiple torrent downloadings and big files.. And its more along the lines of favorites rather then best.. Its whatever your pc can handle.. And its only as good as the torrent sites you go to.

Multiple downloads and larger files are mainly what i use it for.... if i need a single file or something smaller, i try Ares, but these days i usually don't need that. but true, each one has their own qualities, depending on how a person likes to download their files

the fact that shareaza's got no bittorrent upload capping really put me off, and the fact that by default they didnt open for seeding again aftter i'd closed the program.
I found that artic torrent (http://www.int64.org/arctic.html) works very nice, but them lowest they let you cap upload with unlimited download is 12K which is too high for me. Very minimal CPU though.

Seems to be a fairly evenly distributed split amongst the Bit Torrent clients according to the polls...
Kinda supprised actually, thought azerus woulda stole the show but by all means if you feel the need to test the programs for yourself do it. The best way to figure out what works best for you is to give em a try.

Generally I use Azureus, for downloading my daily TV shows and movies. Works great.
Occasionally BitComet for smaller files or if i want to do other things at the same time. Less details than Azureus but less cpu/memory usage.

I use sharazaa. Since I'm usualy downloading off Edoneky and Guntella anyway I might as well use it for Bittorrent as well. That way I can download alot without haveing too many apps running at the same time.

I have been using Bitcomet for a year now and it has always worked great for me . It allows you to download multiple files at once and also uses very little ram or cpu . Its also got a great and very user friendly interface. :hole

I'm really supprised with the results of this poll. I thought that BitTornado would be much higher and I can not believe that nobody voted for the official BitTorrent client. I was expecting around a 3 way tie between BitComet, Azureus and BitTornado. I guess I will leave this poll open for another few weeks to see if anything changes.
Thanks for voting and your commits. :;)

I may be mistaken, but I heard this app had a trojan or something undesirable like that within. Anybody else here heard anything about that?

I have Turbo Torrent installed on my computer however I hardly use it. I usually use BitComet, but Turbo Torrent is a clean program no trojans no spyware or no adware. It has a nice interface and a built in Torrent searcher which can be usefull. I believe what you are talking about that someone got a trojan installed from one of the torrent websites that the searcher on the program uses. That is not the program fault, many of these torrent websites are infested with trojans and spyware. It is best to use Mozilla Firefox to go to these websites and don't click on the advertisements on these websites some will install trojans and spyware. Torrent Spy is one of the best clean torrent websites. Be carefull on isoHunt because there is some bad crap on it.
Thanks. :green4

BitComet is my choice because it only uses very little CPU you can minimize it to the system tray and can't even tell that it is running. It doesn't slow down the Internet either if you want to browse or play an online game while downloading. Out of all the others that I have tried, I still get faster speeds with BitComet. Azureus just used too much CPU, slowed down my Internet and my computer. And the speeds wasn't as fast as BitComet.
ThankYou :icon_joke

I am in the Bittornado camp,
(formerly Shadows Experimental)
It does not over work my processor and I have always gotten good speeds from it.
the only problem is it used to stick in my task manager even after closing it but that has been fixed in the enw version.
It was litterally the first client that I got to work optimally on my laptop.
Azureus I have tried only once, it was pretty but I opted for Bttornado's simple interface.

Everyone should definately use the new Azureus because of their distributed database, at least untill other Bit Torrent clients implement the distributed database.
The distributed database tracks torrents. So Azureus users can connect to a torrent when the tracker is down.

Very good point, I hope the other clients will include this in the future, since we already have 400,000+ with just Azureus!!!

I run ABC (my pick) on a 1Ghz Duron with 512MB of RAM. It works good. I have run it on a Cyrix 266Mhz with 192MB of RAM and it didn't give me any problems on that. (That was an earlier version, probably 2.6.5 or so, I was still testing it out)

The latest Azureus added in a Distributed tracker system, which allows it to find sources even when the tracker is down. I would definately recommend using this till the other bittorrent programs have the same functionality.

I cant remember if I used Azureus since the last update (when was it?) but I try downloading a TV show today and its absoluteley blitzing my CPU and memory. So much that everythinbg becomes unresponsive and it takes about 30 seconds for Task Manager to appear and then that becomes unresponsive. I dont know what the hell happened. Anyone else have this... haha I'm running it now and I can type whole sentences before they appear on screen. Fuck
Thanks :D
EDIT: In taskmgr it's javaw thats using up my PC, so maybe theres something wrong with that.

Do you have the latest version of java, and do you have a lot of plugins to load? I have about 10 plugins and it takes about 10 seconds to load on my athlon 64. Depends what you add to it, and what computer you have really.

I think 1.5.0_03 just came out recently, might want to try upgrading to that.. Also plugins you install yourself, so if you never did you dont have any.
