Hey again fine, very computerish people,

Does anyone know of any ways I can hide my files from others using the computer (other administrators I mean) other than just clicking hide in the Preference menu and then turning the viewing of hidden files off??

Someone else has started using my computer and I don't want them nosing through my folders. Believe me, I know they'll try!!

I know there are programs out there that deal with this but are there any free ones? I know I'm a cheap b'stard but having just spent good money on a computer, I didn't have any left (at the moment anyway) for decent software. I'm pretty much relying on what I can find to download (who'd have thought this computer malarky would have been so stressful on a low budget!!).

Also, I was wondering if there is any way I can stop other seeing the Kazaa Lite Shared Folder. I was checking some things out and turned off viewing of my hidden files but when I clicked on another user account I found I could still see my personal Shared Folder even this user doesn't have access to K-Lite. They could see what I had downloaded. I know you probably all think I sound a bit shady, but I'm not...really. I just don't want this particular person seeing what I've downloaded etc. and broadcasting it to all I know.

If anyone can give me any tips I'd be extremely greatful, as ever.

(P.s. At this rate, I'm gonna be able to help people on here soon too!!)

Advanced Hide Folders is a very cool program that will do what you have requested, hide folders. It's not free, but can be obtained *cough* if you look hard enough. there are a few other programs that work but this one works the best for me so far.

If the other "Administrators" of this computer have any competency at all in Windows, you cannot restrict them from accessing your files natively within Windows.

(There may be a third party program that can do it, but I don't know about any. Give uselesscrap's a try.)
