That is, to resolve a user's ip correctly. It is rare that a p2p program require the users to input the ip themselves, especially the program cannot deal with firewall correctly(it just return the local ip, not global ip/internet ip). May be you guys heard about a Japanese 3 generation p2p program called "Share"(version a78 now, yes, it is still Alpha stage). But this is an excellent program that run with nodes(every user must cut and paste some nodes before it can connect to find more nodes). I am not programmer, but I guess "Share" run like Ants, but at this moment it is better, just because it can resolve user's global ip seamlessly and automatically, we just don't need to worry about that.
Ants creators, please take this basic function seriously. The Japanese had done it correctly and perfectly, why not you guys? I just want to see Ants get better, because I like the style of Japanese "Share", I think Ants should also go popular.

Share(??) is a great program and its based on Winny which in turn uses Freenets principles .Share is a Distributed File System that uses a encrypted cache and uses force diffusion of files in 1MB chunks its a shame more westerners dont use it as its easy to add the English localisation file and nodelists. One reason probably is you need a broadband connection for Share. Many people still cant set up share becuse they are clueless how to add nodelists and localisation files and they always mess with thier chache.
Share is closed source and the programer is unknown becuse as it stands at the moment developing a p2p in Japan copyright infingment is considered to be a crime even for sharing a single file and the developer of Winny has been charged for contributory copyright infingement .
I have no problems with Ants and if you have problems maybe try useing a DNS service like no-ip or dynDNS.

Ants got updated today (0.9.5) -- I see it's not even in the list of programs on this site, :green that makes me sad... But yeah, if I had a nickle for every time a fellow ants user has asked how to get around his NAT I'd be rich. nevertheless Gwren has chosen to develope parts of the program peolple don't see, before making a friendly user environment.
