Please help i have just upgraded to a 512k connection which should give up to 60KB/s download speed, on my first day i was nearly reaching that with shareaza. I am sharing over 50GB of files and am in the queue for about 230 files ranging from 1GB to 700Gb. The problem is that for the last week i am lucky to get speeds over 1KB/s per file and upto 5KB/s overall. I have just reinstalled the latest version. I have xp with sp2 and am downloading a file with over 500 sources at 34B/s that is going to take 4023hours to complete. Is there any tweaks to rectify this or is it a server problem. Thanks in advance.

XP SP2 limits the number of connections that can be made to 10 per second. That could be causing problems - There's a patch to remove the limit at http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497.
Otherwise, it could be your ISP throttling your (P2P) bandwidth, if you've been downloading a lot lately.
You could always try increasing the values in the "Number of downloads" section in Shareaza's options, if you haven't already done so.

Strangely enough this internet patch was never needed by me with SP2 yet a lot of folks need it... I have yet to install and upon numerous tests I download at good speeds. A lot of times the problem lies in not how much your sharing but the limits you put on your upstream speed and connectivity... If you set a low limit you will recieve your files a bit more slowly.
